Tomi Waziri was not born blind. He graduated from the Kogi State University and was working as an uber driver in Lagos. He lost his sight after a tragic robbery at 27 years of age during which armed robbers shot him in the face. After recovering from the sad incident, he fell into
depression.
Fortunately, Tomi did not give up, he became motivated to turn his challenges into a springboard for helping others through the Tomi Waziri Foundation and he is an ambassador of a resource center for those who have visual impairment.
He is a mental health advocate amongst many other humanitarian activities for people living with disabilities. According to Tomi “the word disability has ability in it. Disability is not a death sentence. There are many people with disabilities doing great things. As long as there is life, there is hope.
