Tunde's story is of “grass to grace.” His father, a commercial bus (Molue) driver, his mother, a petty trader, and his siblings all lived in a one-room apartment in Lagos State, Nigeria. His mum was determined to have Tunde educated and therefore worked as a cleaner in exchange for his school fees. He later learnt Chess at a Barber’s shop.
Now a World Chess Federation International Master (one of the highest titles in Chess ), he competed to set a Guinness World Record for the longest consecutive hours playing the game. Tunde founded the “Chess in Slum Initiative” coaching out-of-school and disadvantaged children and inspiring many young chess players
